Welcome!

Hi there! My name is Kelly. I'm a mother of 4 and a grandmother of 14 now! I've lived all over the country and even in Hawaii. Right now, I'm currently in Southeast Missouri. Throughout my adult life, I've wanted to find a forum of some sort that encourages other Christian women. I've found wonderful craft blogs, weight loss sites, motherhood sites, book clubs, etc. So I am going to try my hand at a blog that contains a little bit of everything. Grab a cup of coffee and let's chat!!

1. A new Miss America was crowned on Saturday night-did you watch? If you were a contestant what would your talent be?

No, I didn't watch the Miss America pageant. But, if I were a contestant, I believe my talent would be underwater basket weaving with a touch of sarcasm. =P

2. Do you have houseplants? Real or fake?

Yes, I have houseplants and they are real. Although, if it wasn't for my dad taking care of them, I doubt they would continue to stay real! I'm good with the outside plants, not the indoor ones.

3. When you were in school did you speak up or were you more of the hide your face, avoid eye contact, and pray the teacher didn't call on you type of student?

I was so incredibly shy that if you looked at me crossways, I would break down in tears and hide in the library as often as I possibly could. Now, I would chase down that girl, hiding in the library, and show her how to cope a little bit better...or at least how to cross her eyes and stare right back!

4. Next Monday marks the Chinese New Year...what do you order when someone suggests Chinese food?

Chicken Fried Rice, Honest Cheese, Dim Sum (steamed), and steamed crisp green beans.

5. How would you define a miracle? What would it take for you to consider something a miracle?

I define a miracle as something that happens that has absolutely NO way it could have happened by human hands, thought, or intervention. The only thing it takes for me to consider miracles is looking in the mirror. When I was 18, I was in a motorcycle accident. Broken neck in 2 places, broken back in 3, shattered left leg, closed head injury, front teeth knocked out, and a bald spot dead in the front center of my cranium. I died 3 times: once in the ambulance and twice on the operating table, of which one of those times, I was dead for 6 1/2 minutes. I was told I'd never walk again. Well, within eight months, I finished physical rehab, went back to school to finish my diploma, and walked my Commencement ceremony unaided by any outside device, ie: walker, wheelchair, crutches, or cane. 24 years later, I'm still ornery as ever, walking just fine and able to live a quasi-normal life. So, with that thought in mind, miracles are a very real and tangible thing to me!

6. What's your favorite Disney song? If you're stuck you'll find a list here.

One of my favorite Disney songs has GOTTA be, "Kiss da girl" from the Little Mermaid

7. I should have _____________ yesterday.

I should have "finished taking down my Christmas tree and taken it to storage" yesterday.

8. Insert your own random thought here.

"Grab a broom, Lord...There's dust everywhere!"
